(Photo theborderconsortium.org)MAE HONG SON -- A fire at Mae La Ma Luang camp for Karen war refugees in Sop Moey district on Sunday night destroyed four shelters, but the occupants escaped unhurt, media reports said. Soldiers of the 36th Ranger Reginment from Thepsing Camp in Mae Sariang district rushed to the refugee camp and put quickly out the flames, saving many homes. The fire left about 20 members of four Karen families homeless. An investigation revealed the blaze was started by children playing with fire.
